Teléfonos de Mexico has denied any involvement in Dish Mexico, the partnership between Echo Star (Dish Network) and MVS Comunicaciones.

The company states that it only has a contract to provide Dish Mexico with a billings service, being this one in more than 950 services and products it offers, including the financing of computer purchases.

The press release asserts that "in the future we could participate in a joint investment with Dish Mexico, if approved by the authorities". According to Telmex, "this has been reported by Telmex to entities such as the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Mexican Stock Exchange" and "all the deals mentioned in this report have been acknowledged and authorized by the Comisión Federal de Competencia (CFC)".
